Mexico

ATD Fourth World has been active in Mexico since October 2007.

Our main areas of activity are the following:

  • Spreading knowledge about the life, thought and action of Father Joseph Wresinski, and also about ATD Fourth World’s aims and philosophy, both in academia and in Mexican society more generally.
  • The annual celebration of the World Day to Overcome Extreme Poverty.
  • Recruitment of Mexican allies for training in our philosophy, who can then pass on what they have learned to society at large and/or make long-term commitments to work with the poorest families for the eradication of poverty.
  • Collaboration with institutions that work with poor populations.
  • Promoting friendships between rich and poor children by means of the Tapori Network.

Wherever men and women are condemned to live in extreme poverty, human rights are violated.
To come together to ensure that these rights be respected is our solemn duty.
