October 17 in Geneva

In order to give added visibility to October 17 - International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, the October 17 Team (Amnesty International United Geneva, ATD Fourth World, Codap and Mesemrom) organized a meeting at the Paquis Baths, a highly symbolic venue because it is the most popular meeting place in the city, in order to let people living in extreme poverty have their say.

Today the Conseil federal has made public its overall strategy to fight poverty. For those who are poor, this is a major breakthrough. Since 2003, ATD Quart Monde has been calling for such a strategy to be developed with their active participation.
