STOP Poverty: Launch of ATD Fourth World’s Global Citizens Campaign

With events on three continents, ATD Fourth World will launch its global STOP Poverty campaign on 12 February, 2017. Declaring that poverty is not inevitable, the campaign highlights people living in extreme poverty as full partners in efforts to overcome it. The year long campaign will emphasizes that the world can put a stop to poverty if people in all areas of society work together with the intention of leaving no one behind.

Orleans Parish Prison Photo: Richard Ross On October 17 in New Orleans, Jaquin Thomas, age 15, apparently committed suicide in his cell by asphyxiating himself with a mattress cover. Jaquin had not been found guilty of a crime.

In a renewal of its international leadership, ATD Fourth World will see Isabelle Pypaert-Perrin bring her wide-ranging experience to a second term as Director General, while three new Deputy Directors – Bruno Dabout, Álvaro Iniesta Pérez, and Martine Le Corre – will join her to take up responsibilities as of January 2017.
