The youngsters shared their life experiences and their projects, around the “Call to European youth” (World Day for Overcoming Extreme Poverty). This Call was written following the numerous meetings of young people in Europe during the past year and will be made public on the 17th October in Brussels and elsewhere.
During these couple of days, the young people took part in reflection groups, in creative workshops, in forums etc. These moments, together with the free time, the games and sports, allowed them to get to know each other better, regardless of their history, their age, their language or their culture. Thus, they realized that they have common aspirations and goals regarding this society where they sometimes have a hard time finding their place or making themselves heard.
Each participant was also able to put his or her brushstroke on the wooden squares used to make “the curtain of encounters”, a common piece of work that will be on show in Brussels on the 17th October.

The youngsters left the gathering with ideas on how to prepare this day and how to defend the Call in their cities, villages, and neighbourhoods.
A fantastic energy emerged from this gathering and gave everyone the motivation to continue with this dynamic and to stay in touch with each other. Many of these young people can’t wait for new opportunities to meet each other again.
