A silhouette exhibit at the UN

At the Human Rights Council in Geneva

An exhibit in the Tapori Campaign : "Listen to us and change the world"

In the true story, children make fun of Ono because they don’t really know him. Rene takes the time to get to know Ono and find out who he really is.

Once the children have read the story and discussed it with others, they make their silhouette and write a message for the whole world.

March 14: The opening of a silhouette exhibit brought together thirty children who spoke to more than one hundred adults. They were delegates for children from all around the world.

They were welcomed by 5 embassadors and the Director of the Cultural Services at the United Nations.

The children from the Tapori weekends in Switzerland went into the meeting room of the Human Rights Council to invite adults to visit the exhibit.

Children from the Villa Yoyo in Versoix, from Renens (close to Lausanne), and from the Sécheron High School (Geneva) also spoke at the event.

"We created our silhouettes to say what we have in our hearts to people who don’t know us and to talk about friendship. When we do our silhouette, we see that we’re different and that helps us to respect each other."

"Children, keep hope that inequality in the world will disappear."

"For the world to go well, we need to listen to children…"

Then children and young people handed out bookmarks with silhouettes and messages on them. "This bookmark will help you to remember us!"

Wherever men and women are condemned to live in extreme poverty, human rights are violated.
To come together to ensure that these rights be respected is our solemn duty.
