The Fourth World People’s University: citizenship at the heart of the discussions of 5 March 2012

How can the thoughts and life experience of very poor people contribute to enhancing the functioning of institutions? How do we imagine 2013, the European Year of the Citizen? At the twelfth Fourth World People’s University that took place on 5 March 2012 in Brussels on the subject “Citizens for a Europe active against poverty” the participants worked together to find paths towards a society where access to all rights for all would be possible. This day highlighted the importance of meetings and dialogue between the European players and the 120 delegates, people living in persistant poverty, and other stakeholders in the fight against poverty.
