Education For All in Tanzania | Video

For many years people living in poverty in Tanzania talked about the importance of education. In response, the ATD Fourth World team there initiated the Education for All project. This project brings together many different people but gives priority to the ideas and concerns of people who have experienced poverty.

This video presents some aspects of the Education for All approach. It involved parents, local authorities and more than 1,000 professionals in the education system working together to ensure that education would be available to all children.

The Education for All project demonstrates that it is crucial to involve parents and students from outside the education system in research and reform efforts. Their involvement lead to a mutual understanding and collaborative reforms that enabled all children to find their place in school.
