International Symposium: Rethinking Our World from the Perspective of Poverty

For the centenary of the birth of Joseph Wresinski, founder of the Fourth World Movement, an international and interdisciplinary symposium open to many areas of expertise will be held from 6 to 13 June, 2017 in Cerisy-la-Salle, France. It will be in three languages – French, English and Spanish. It is not to celebrate a man, but rather to study his thinking and his work directed towards the eradication of persistent poverty, in relation to other contemporary trends. This is an invitation not only to think about extreme and chronic poverty, but also to think about our world from the perspective of poverty and, most importantly, with those who are experiencing it.
