The World Day for Overcoming Extreme Poverty was created in 1987. Initiated by Joseph Wresinski, it was proclaimed by the United Nations as International Day for the Eradication of Poverty in 1992.
To commemorate its 30th year, ATD Fourth World is transforming the World Day to Overcome Extreme Poverty into a global celebration, where anyone who can connect to the internet can show their support for the fight to overcome poverty.
Combining live events from Manila, Dublin, Dakar, Paris, Guatemala, and the UN Headquarters in New York, with never-before seen interviews, archival footage, music, dancing, and much more – it will be a blockbuster occasion.
