Haïti, symposium on “Extreme poverty as a challenge to democracy”
The symposium on “Extreme poverty as a challenge to democracy, the current thinking on the writings of Joseph Wresinski” took place in Port au Prince, on the 27-28-29th of February 2008, at the initiative of ATD Fourth World in partnership with FOKAL (Foundation of knowledge and freedom) and the French Institute in Haiti, supported by the European Commission. University professors, families living in difficult conditions, representatives of international associations and organizations, discussed the three major themes: “The link between human rights and poverty,” “extreme poverty and violence,” and “Science and knowledge in regard to extreme poverty.”A Health Promotion Project in Haiti
Since 1990, the ATD Fourth World team in Haiti has been working in partnership with the Service Oecumenique d’Entraide (SOE), to provide health care for poor families living in Bolosse-sous-Dalle through their St. Michel Clinic.Around 250 (…)
